Asbury Church is a caring community in Christ where people are loved, lives are transformed and disciples are made. Asbury Church is a United Methodist congregation in mission to the South Side of Corpus Christi, Texas, located at 7501 South Staples, at the corner of Staples and Yorktown.
Whether you are a life-long Christian, are seeking to renew your faith or are just curious about church, the Bible, God, or Jesus Christ, you'll find Asbury Church to be a warm and caring atmosphere. We invite you to join us at one of our three Sunday services.

Join this eight-week study which begins on Thursday, January 24 and concludes on Thursday, March 8. It is an ideal Lenten study which is open to everyone! The class will meet on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. You must pre-register for the class to guarantee receiving a book and study guide for the course. At the Alpha Course, people explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions with a day retreat as a bonus. It is low-key, friendly and fun, and dinner is included at each weekly class meeting. Alpha is for everyone who would like to learn more about the Christian faith, newcomers to the Church, new Christians and those who who want to brush up on the basics. You have the opportunity to get an overview of Alpha at the Alpha Dinner on Tuesday, January 29 at 6:30 p.m.

At Asbury Church we encourage everyone desiring membership to reflect on what they are looking for in a church. In order to assist you in learning more about Asbury Church and the many opportunities that are available for you here, we offer the Pastor's Class. Everyone is invited to participate whether you are new to Asbury and seeking information about membership, or whether you simply want to participate in a class let by the Pastor. You will enjoy this time of meeting new friends and the opportunity to learn together. The Pastor's Class (a two sessions course) is scheduled for Sunday afternoons from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on September 30 and October 7 Registration forms are available at the Welcome Center. Discerning the Voice of God by Priscilla Shirer

Having a hard time knowing what God is saying versus what ohters are saying? This Bible study from author and speaker Priscilla Shirer is designed to help participants know the voice of God: His language, character, and tone of voice. By growing closer to God through His Word, participants will be able to discern God's voice from the voice of strangers. This 6-week study for women starts on Wednesday, January 30. The class is offered on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Please register for the class at the Welcome Center.

A Heart Like His by Beth Moore

This 11-week Bible study for women starts on Wednesday, January 23. The class is offered on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It is a study of King David. The study focuses on how God loved and was able to use David despite his disobedience, and it offers many lessons for those seeking to have a heart like God's. Please register early to help us order the appropriate number of participant books. Registration forms are located at the Welcome Center. The Bible compares spiritual growth to a seed, a building, and a child growing up. God's Word provides the truth we need to grow. Spiritual growth takes intentional commitment. Discipleship (that word that you see posted on the wall of our Worship Center) is the process of becoming like Christ. Commit to exploring God's teaching in the Bible. If you want to learn to use your Bible, DISCIPLE BIBLE STUDY is the place for you. Classes start in October (Sunday evenings from 6:00-8:00 and will be taught by Pastor Trudy Paul.

All classes are divided by age-level. Most classrooms have at least two team teachers, some have as many as four!
