Core Beliefs
GOD is the creator and ruler of the universe. He eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, each possessing the attributes of God.
JESUS CHRIST is the Son of God. He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. He is the Head of the Church.
The HOLY SPIRIT is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He draws us to Christ for salvation and lives in every Christian, equipping us for personal growth and service.
WE are created by God in His spiritual image to have fellowship with Him. We have defied God by choosing to go our own way. This disobedience, called sin, separates us from God. We need God's saving grace to end our eternal alienation from Him.
The BIBLE is God's word to all of us. Human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote it. It is the source of truth for Christian beliefs and living, and the final authority on all things necessary for salvation.
SALVATION is a gift from God which must be accepted individually by repentance and faith during our lifetime. This happens by trusting in Jesus Christ. When we do trust Jesus, we receive forgiveness and eternal life with God. No human effort or good works can achieve salvation.
ETERNITY - We are created to exist forever. We will either live in union with God through salvation or eternally separated from God. Eternal life with God begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our life by faith.
The CHURCH is all those, anywhere, in the past, present and future, who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The church exists to serve as a corporate body for the worship of God, reach unbelievers with the message of salvation, provide fellowship for Christians with each other, develop the spiritual gifts and talents of Christians for service in the world, and to be the Body of Christ (Presence) in the world.
