Core Values 

Authenticity.  We have no desire to wear masks or to hide behind some kind of fake, Sunday morning Christianity.  Because our God is real, we need to be real.  The world doesn't just want words.  It wants real.  That's why we strive to be an authentic community of people who present real, living proof of a loving God to a watching (skeptical) world.

Spiritual Power.  We can do nothing of any real, lasting significance on our own.  That's why we believe that when we dare to open ourselves up to the Fresh Winds of God's Holy Spirit, God can and will do more in and through us "than we would ever dare to ask or even imagine" (Ephesians 3:20-21).  Prayer is the secret of unleashing God's Power in the world, and therefore it is the power "generator" of this church.

Biblical Truth.  People have many opinions, but not many of them are based on any sort of authoritative source.  We believe the Bible is God's Truth and that our opinions need to line up with it, not the other way around.  That is why the Bible is foundational to everything we do.

Unity without uniformity.  God loves variety.  Because we believe God has given us good news for all people of every station and position in life, we who have experienced God's grace ourselves must value building bridges beyond any and all barriers to demonstrate the power of biblical unity (John 17:20-23; Ephesians 4:3).

Radical hospitality.  We follow a Savior who was willing to die on a cross so that he could offer us God's invitation to come back home to Him.  That's RADICAL hospitality!  That means that doing Whatever Is Necessary to make that invitation available to others is central to our church.  "I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some."  1 Corinthians 9:22

Yearning to unlock God's Dream for everyone.  We believe Asbury has a real and vital part to play in transforming the community around us and ultimately the entire world into what God always intended it to be.  God's Dream, and therefore OUR MISSION is that....

Core Truths 

CENTRALITY OF CHRIST - We place Jesus Christ at the absolute Center of all that we are and everything we do. 

AUTHORITY OF THE BIBLE - We value the Bible, composed of the sixty-six book of the Old and New Testaments, as the full and final authority on all matters of faith and practice.  There are no other writings similarly inspired by God.  "

DEPENDENCY ON THE HOLY SPIRIT - We understand the Holy Spirit is the Comforter, Counselor and Helper sent for believers and the One who reveals God's Truth to the world.  He lives in believers to empower them for Godly life and service, giving a diversity of gifts for the common good of the church. 

AUTHENTICITY OF LOVE - We demonstrate our faith best when it is exemplified in the way we love and care for each other. 

INTENTIONALITY OF GROWTH - We accept our task to proclaim Jesus, inviting people into a saving relationship with Him, and providing people the opportunity to grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord.  We also trust that God will grow us numerically and spiritually as we are faithful to this task and His leading. 

ADAPTABILITY OF COMMUNICATION - We understand the good news about Jesus is for all people of every station and position in life.  Because we are fellow strugglers who have experienced God's forgiveness ourselves, we are committed to doing anything short of sin to help others hear and respond to God's grace and offer of new life.

MINISTRY OF ALL BELIEVERS - We treasure each one of us as uniquely gifted and called to serve God and others.  Serving the needs of others is the best way to have our own needs served.  

CERTAINTY OF PURPOSE - We are certain the reason Christ brought the Church into being is to finish the work He began in His life, death and resurrection.  That makes the mission of the Church unquestionable and the outcome of that mission unstoppable.
